Dortmund Guide

The city has been re-built several times, the last being following the second world war when it had been badly bombed by allied forces, it has now become the centre for Germany's high tech industries. It is a modern up to date city with lots of cultural entertainment, but it still has the old town and the old traditions such as the Christmas market held every November/December. It is also the home to the German National Football Museum and to the former European Champions Burussia Dortmund. Outside the city there are national parks such as Arnsberg Forest and Iserlohner Stadtwald within an easy drive with your car hire Dortmund

Dortmund airport is conveniently situated close to the A40 (B1) and A44 autobahns and is clearly signed.

There are several car parks at Dortmund airport, including a “kiss and fly” zone where you drop off for free, other parking is payable at an automatic machine. There is also “women only” parking here in car park P1 close to the entrance to the terminal.
