The Canterbury Museum and the Christchurch Art Gallery are worth a visit along with the Air Force Museum. The city is still recovering from the earthquake of February 2011 and although most utilities are fixed some areas remain cordoned off and are still unsafe. The cathedral was badly damaged and the city is now building an unusual cathedral made of cardboard – a unique attraction.
