Bergen Guide
Bergen is the 2nd largest city in Norway and ‘gateway to the fjords’. It is surrounded by mountains and was once capital of Norway. Its most famous attraction is the old harbour of Bryggen with its wooden houses, which are a UNESCO world heritage site. The city is also known for its culture and has its own Opera House and National Theatre as well as the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. You can visit the Bergen Art Museum and the Hanseatic Museum or the Bergenhus Fortress. The city has a strong cafe culture too, so you can just sit and watch all the visitors to the touristy fish market. With your car hire Bergen, you can also head for the beach at Hjellestad or going skiing at Kvamskogen.

From the city, take the E39 route to the airport for 18 km and the journey should take no more than 30 minutes.

There are 3500 spaces for car parking at Bergen Airport and all spaces are within walking distance of the terminal building. These are suitable for both short and long stay parking – although there is also a budget car park further out, with a free shuttle bus service to the terminal.

At the present time, 6 airlines fly to 37 destinations and these are a mixture of domestic and European flights. Popular destinations include London and Copenhagen and there are seasonal flights in operation too.
