Reykjavik Airport Guide
Originally a fishing village, Reykjavik did not become a capital city till the 20th century. It is known for its colourful houses and its friendliness and its ‘big village’ atmosphere. Tjornin is the old town area and there is a lake and nature reserve there. For a bit of culture you can visit the national cathedral or the Reykjavik Art Museum and City Museum. Take a ferry out to Vioey Island and see the Peace Tower or go on a whale watching trip from the harbour. Don’t miss the famous ‘Blue Lagoon’ geothermal spa nearby, but you will need your car hire Reykjavik to get there.
