Bergamo Airport Guide
Bergamo is a pretty town in the foothills of the Alps. There are 2 parts, the Cita Alta is the historic walled upper city and the Cita Bassa is the lower modern city. Take the cable car from Cita Bassa to Cita Alta and explore the steep winding streets around the Piazza Vecchia. Look out for the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore and the Rocca, a fortress built in 1331. Visit the 14th century Citadella which houses 2 museums and see Renaissance paintings at the Accademia Carrara. Near Cita Alta is San Vigilio with its castle ruins and excellent views of Bergamo. Take a drive with your car hire Bergamo and visit Lake Como or the ski resort of San Simone.
