Bloemfontein is a little airport serving just under 300,000 passengers a year and whilst it’s not over-endowed with facilities there’s enough to make the time there comfortable. You’ll find the shops there will have everything you need for your journey and the small café’s range of snacks and drinks will keep you going until you get to Johannesburg.

The airport road leads out onto the main road, route 8 that leads into the city. It’s really easy to find the centre of the city and you’ll be there in under ten minutes.

Bloemfontein is a small airport and as such doesn’t have huge amount of parking. You’ll still be able to find a space and consideration is given for those who are less mobile. Long term parking is in the same area as short term but is charged at a lower rate after the expiration of a certain amount of time.
Bloemfontein Airport Flight InformationThere are no direct international flights to Bloemfontein and instead you’ll have to connect at one of South Africa’s main international airports if travelling from the UK. Johannesburg’s OR Tambo is usually the best one to choose.
Hotels Near Bloemfontein Airport
The Urban Hotel may have a dull name but it’s actually a great hotel. Looking a little like a small office block, you can get a contemporary room there for £49 a night and upon checking out, you’ll have enjoyed your stay. The Protea Hotel, Willow Lake, is a little more upmarket but you’ll still get away with paying no more than £65 a night – a great rate for a fabulous hotel.
