Badajoz Airport Guide
Badajoz, inland gets terribly hot in the summer and so the best times to visit are in spring when the countryside is awash with flowers and in autumn when the air is full of the scent of ripening grapes. The key attraction of Badajoz is its defensive architecture; from the imposing city walls to the refurbished alcazaba, it exudes confidence in its security. If you are interested in ecclesiastical buildings you may initially be disappointed by the cathedral which is also heavily fortified rather than delicate. The city’s alcazaba is also very impressive and from the top of the fortress you’ll get a great view out over the region known as Extremadura.
