Chiclana Guide
Chiclana de la Frontera is not one of Spain’s frontline resorts but has its own quiet charm. Forget that you are in a big town and focus on the pale sandy beach at Barrosa or head out for a round of golf at Novo Sancti Petri. In Chiclana itself there are a number of architectural sights including medieval towers and a Moorish fortress. The town’s museum is also a fount of information about its development from Phoenician times and has a fascinating chronology of the Iberian Wars ending with the Battle of Barrosa. If travelling with young children, they may be interested in the town’s Doll Museum which traces the history of the toy through many examples.
