Fuengirola Guide
Most will come here for the eight kilometres of beaches and the exciting Mijas Water Park but for those that want a bit of culture you have the Moorish Castle and the Phoenician ruins at Castillo Sohail and Roman ruins at Torreblanca and Los Boliches. Another great visit is to the Zoo Bioparc which unusually opens at night too so you can see the nocturnal creatures. Finally, the town has a historic port, still in use, and it’s a great place to grab a beer and watch the boats bob in and out.

Fuengirola Info
Fuengirola is a large town on the Costa del Sol near Malaga and like all towns on that coast in possession of a good beach, it sold its soul to tourism. From being a gentle fishing village in the 1950s it underwent massive development and many high rise blocks were built, spoiling the look of the town. Despite being dedicated to holiday fun, Fuengirola retains its history and those uninterested in getting a tan will have plenty else to see and do.
