La Palma Airport Guide
La Palma is a much quieter and more peaceful island than the other Canaries and is much less developed. There’s plenty to do on the island but it’s not one known for beach life. Instead, you need to don walking boots or hire a car and explore the dramatic landscape. You can take a hire car up to the top of the island’s highest point for fabulous views but beware that in winter the roads are often closed by snow! The lush countryside affords great hiking terrain and the Atlantic climate means that the hills and valleys will often be shrouded in mists. Make sure you visit the Caldera de Taburiente, one of the world’s largest erosion craters.
