Plasencia Guide
People visit Plasencia mainly for the architecture and history. Begin with a walk around the remaining walls of the city then walk into the atmospheric old town where you’ll see the two adjoining cathedrals. One was built after the other as a replacement but then not finished causing the two to share parts of each other’s building. It’s an interesting jumble of buildings and architectural styles. Visit the remains too of the old Roman aqueduct which supplied water to the city.
Plasencia Directions

Plasencia Info
Plasencia is a very historic city in the west of Spain, not too far from the Portuguese border. The city has been the home of much strategic politics over the centuries and was fought over by the Moors and Christians remaining in Moorish hands for only a year. Today, whilst a tranquil market city, it’s beginning to draw in more tourists looking for the historic and archaeological sights and as a base for exploring the rugged Extremadura region of Spain.
