Pontevedra Guide
Pontevedra is a beautiful city found in a beautiful setting. The city has a wonderfully atmospheric old quarter atop the hill it’s built on and there amongst the old cobbled streets you’ll find some historic gems including the Virgin Peregrina Chapel which is very ornate inside. In winter, chestnut sellers congregate in the public square selling hot nuts to warm passers-by. In summer it’s the favourite meeting place of the locals and the scene of much of the city’s entertainment. Outside the city, you have the wonderful green hilly countryside of Galicia, a great location for a picnic of local produce.
