San Pedro Guide
San Pedro is more of a gateway to the beaches of its near neighbour Nueva Alcantara where most of the new development lies. The town has a great atmosphere to it, sleepy and cool despite the heat of the sun. There are plenty of parks and little shops to entertain on days when you don’t fancy the beach and if you’ve a hire car, you can explore the nearby hills and craggy mountains that surround San Pedro. You should try to make it to a bullfight there if you’re not squeamish and watch as, afterwards, the bodies of the bulls are offered as a sacrifice on a pyre.
