Tarragona Guide
If you’re going to visit Tarragona this summer you’ll have plenty of choices of things to do. For those who simply want to relax, the city’s beaches have Blue Flag awards and are soft and golden. For those that want a little more excitement, mainland Europe’s biggest theme park; Port Aventura is nearby whilst historians will be fascinated by the Roman ruins dotted all around the city. In the third week of September the city hosts the Santa Tecla Festival, one of the most important in Spain and acknowledged as a national heritage event.

Reus Airport is close by and it is easy to get to Tarragona from there, usually in under fifteen minutes. First head southeast on the A2 then join the A7 east and Tarragona will soon be on the horizon. There is no shortage of flights to Reus Airport from British airports with a range of holiday charter airlines and budget airlines flying from many regional and international airports.

Tarragona has some fabulous hotels and even better; they’re great value for money. The Husa Imperial Taraco is right on the beach and has superb amenities. At only 77 euros a night in peak season it’s also a steal! If that’s still too expensive for you the SB Express Tarragona is a tower hotel near the centre of the city with prices from only 45 euros.
