Daytona Guide
Daytona is most famous for the Daytona 500 motor race but also for the annual ‘Speed Weeks’ where petrol heads get together to see their favourite vehicles speed around the track. The beach is also a great attraction despite it being mainly of hard packed sand. There are numerous fascinating museums including one celebrating the art of photography and another combining Hispanic art with scientific discoveries from the region. Having a fabulous climate means that there are numerous parks where you can enjoy yourself with Sun Splash County Park being the most popular.

Surprisingly, hotels in Daytona offer great value for money. At the top end is the Oceanside Inn, directly on the beach and with fantastic views out over the sea. At a better price but for still an excellent hotel is the Emerald Shores Hotel which costs around $40 a night and is again, right on the waterfront.
