Fort Walton Beach Guide
Entertainment for tourists is very simple in Fort Walton Beach. There’s obviously the beach which is long, pale golden and sandy whilst the Gulfarium is an aquarium dedicated to the ecology of the Gulf of Mexico. The presence of the US military has spawned an interesting museum but the most fascinating place to visit is the old Indian Temple Mound and Museum which honours the original inhabitants of the region. Visitors to the city in June can enjoy the farcical and hilarious Billy Bowlegs Festival, full of piracy, grog and sea shanties – of a sort!

Hotels Near Fort Walton Beach Airport
Our favourite is the Four Points by Sheraton Dustin, right on the beach and with superb amenities. It’ll cost you around $99 a night but well worth the cost. The Fairway Inn is half the price but has equally good facilities, it’s just not near the beach!
