Greenwich Village Guide
Despite its cleaned up image, there are still aspects of Greenwich Village which are worthy of your time. Washington Square Park is where it really all began and you can wander through the gardens, stopping to listen to musicians or watch artists at work and stand underneath the arch that is iconic of the park. It’s at night where you’ll see more life in the village when the workers who have spent the day in the offices of Manhattan go out to a bar or to watch a show. The Cherry Lane Theatre or the Bitter End are two popular venues for shows or live music.
Greenwich Village Directions
Take the New Jersey Turnpike from the airport, connect to the Pulaski Skyway and onto the Lincoln Parkway and you’ll be in Greenwich Village in less than half an hour.
Greenwich Village Parking
Parking numbers and options are extensive at Newark and the short term parking is immediately in front of the semi-circular terminal. Long term parking is some distance away but a shuttle service operates to reduce the journey time. Valet parking is also available for those in a rush.
Greenwich Village Flight InformationAlthough New York’s LaGuardia Airport is slightly closer, it is mainly a domestic airport whilst Newark has several direct flights from London making that extra mile journey less of a strain when compared to connecting flights.
Hotels Near Greenwich Village Airport
Sadly there aren’t too many traditional hotels in Greenwich Village since its gentrification. Many are chains and upmarket hotels with upmarket prices. Park South is a more traditional hotel and costs around $70 a night whilst for something completely different try the futuristic Dream Downtown with a space theme and a price tag of around $85 a night.
