Glendale Guide
At first look, Glendale may appear to be a city you may simply want to pass through but spend a little time in the historic downtown and you’ll soon come to love it. As well as hundreds of shops selling antiques, the downtown area has many historic buildings and objects throughout its streets.
It’s out of the city centre where Glendale really comes into its own. Try the Thunderbird Conservation Park where you can cycle, horse ride or run through over a thousand acres where deer and other wildlife live in safety. Further out still is the Glendale Aquatic Park, a low key water park but one that will keep the kids cool and entertained on hot Arizonan days.
Glendale Directions
Phoenix Mesa Airport is closer to Glendale than the Sky Harbor but for international travellers Sky Harbor is better as there are more direct international flights there. BA flies from Heathrow to Phoenix, the only European route, but it means that UK travellers to the Phoenix area are well served. From the airport take route 10 north joining onto route 60 and you’ll pass to the west of Glendale.
