Lahaina Guide
You may be a little disappointed with the beach in Lahaina but don’t panic for many minibuses or hire cars are available to take you to the nearby picture perfect beaches of Kaanapali. It’s at night that Lahaina really takes off with some of the best night time entertainment in the islands. During the day, if you want a change from the beach you can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the city and walk down the 1820’s street, Front Street. Elsewhere you can visit a sugar plantation and take a train ride through the fields or visit a few museums which are dedicated to the sugar industry or to the ancient history of the city.
Lahaina Directions
Kahului Airport is very close as the crow flies but because of the mountains in the way you have to follow the coast road for 18 miles on a beautiful scenic drive.
Lahaina Parking
Kahului Airport has sufficient parking for all. It’s simple to find with short term being directly in front of the terminal and longer term just a short walk beyond it. Travellers with mobility issues can park closer to the terminal and get assistance.
Lahaina Flight InformationThe distance to Kahului means that direct flights from Europe and the UK are impossible. You’ll need to make a connection to get to Kahului so the best airports to do that from are Los Angeles, San Francisco or Dallas, all of which have flights from the UK.
Hotels Near Lahaina Airport
There are two very good hotels in Lahaina; The Whaler, right on the shore or the Lahaina Shores, again on the waterfront. The Whaler will cost you around $110 a night whilst the Lahaina Shores is cheaper at $70 a night.
