Raleigh-Durham International Airport has two terminals labelled 1 and 2 with terminal 2 having international gates capable of taking Boeing 747 aircraft. Terminal 1 is very dated and there are plans to renovate it in the next few years. Terminal 2 is a modern facility with jet bridges and many facilities for arriving and departing passengers. Terminal 2 has a bigger range of shops and places to eat with Brooks Brothers clothes shop, a bookstore, gift shop and duty free. Places to eat include Cinnabon, an oyster bar, an all-American diner and more. You’ll also find several banks as well as ATMs should you need them.

Getting into the centre of Raleigh by hire car is very easy. Leave the airport gates and turn left onto the Dan K Moore Freeway or route 40 and head southeast. You’ll cross the city’s ring road and arrive in the centre in under 15 minutes.

There are over 11,000 parking spaces at Raleigh-Durham divided into onsite parking in garages or off-site in several open air lots with a shuttle bus connecting you. Valet parking is also available as is closer parking for the less mobile.
